
Los Angeles - The fifth installment of the movie franchise Pirates of the Caribbean will hit the silver screen on 7 July 2017, the Hollywood Reporter said on Wednesday.
Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, starring Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, was set to be released two years earlier, but was delayed due to work on the script, the paper reported.
Joachim Ronning (Kon-Tiki) and Espen Sandberg (Kon-Tiki) are set to direct the project. The last sequel, 2011's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, had an estimated budget of 250 million dollars and grossed 1.04 billion dollars.
